Arda Tur is a cheap option you might consider if you don’t have any other choice. The lounge at the Istanbul bus station is not a good example of cleanliness, but to be fair, other bus services there seem to follow similar standards.
The service was not very organized — they moved us from one bus to another to make room for some boxes they were transporting along with passengers. Because of that, a couple traveling to Greece lost their luggage. I hope they have found it or been refunded.
The drivers don’t speak English, which is understandable for domestic travel within Turkey, but for international transfers, I believe at least a minimal level of English is necessary — and training drivers for that wouldn’t cost much.
There were very few rest stops for passengers, though there were a few extra stops for the driver, such as when he needed to leave a bottle in his car. Also, drivers smoke and use their mobile phones while driving — sometimes both at the same time. It’s unclear what the company does about this, despite having a camera installed in front of the driver’s seat. A Turkish mystery indeed

Dangerous driving - worst I have ever seen.
Phone use throughout journey, not paying attention to the road, sometimes while overtaking other vehicles. Nearly hitting a barrier at a motorway as a result.
Constantly swerving at high speed.
Overtaking a vehicle around a bend, as well as vehicles in stretches of the road where overtaking is not permitted.
Driving in the middle of the road most of the time, not staying in one lane.
Driving way too fast around sharp bends causing the bus to nearly tip.
In addition, the journey was significantly delayed by the driver announcing multiple breaks less than an hour apart early on in the journey. With the added wait at the border the journey to our destination too k nearly twice as long as advertised.
